Dan is a Managing Principal and the Chief Investment Officer of Lafayette Street Capital and Chair of the firm’s Investment Committee. In his capacity as CIO, Dan is responsible for overseeing the firm’s investment strategy, as well as sourcing, underwriting, structuring and managing all aspects of private-market real estate investments.
Prior to forming Lafayette, Dan was the CIO of Cadre, a real estate investment manager. Prior to joining Cadre in 2016, Dan spent 11 years at GEM Realty Capital, an investment firm that invested in both public and private real estate opportunities. During his tenure at GEM, Dan led the private side acquisitions team and was on its investment committee helping to set their investment strategy.
Prior to GEM, Dan was Vice President at Fortress Investment Group, where he focused on acquisitions and originations of equity, mezzanine debt, and other subordinate debt secured by real estate assets and operating companies. He previously worked in J.P. Morgan’s syndicate and leverage finance group, and at Jones Lang LaSalle (NYSE: JLL).
Dan received his M.B.A from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and his B.B.A. from the University of Madison-Wisconsin.
Chad focuses on all aspects of the investment cycle at Lafayette, including investment strategy and sourcing, transaction execution and structuring, and leading the firm's asset management. He is a member of the Investment Committee.
Prior to forming Lafayette, Chad was a Managing Director at Cadre, where he played a key role in shaping investment strategies, sourcing new opportunities, and leading portfolio management. He has successfully led investments across all major asset classes within core-plus, value-add, and development strategies.
Before Cadre, Chad was a Senior Vice President at GEM Realty Capital, an investment firm investing in both public and private real estate. He focused on acquisition and asset management for the private side of the business where he acquired over $1.4bn in real estate transactions, with a focus on office, hospitality, multifamily, and single-family rentals.
Chad holds a Bachelor of Science with Special Attainments in Commerce, Cum Laude, from Washington and Lee University.
Ross is a Managing Principal and the Chief Operating Officer of Lafayette Street Capital. Ross is responsible for all corporate, operational and legal aspects of the business. Ross also works closely with investments to structure and negotiate acquisitions, joint ventures and financings.
Prior to forming Lafayette, Ross was a Managing Director and Cadre’s General Counsel. As the chief legal advisor to Cadre’s CEO, CIO and Board of Directors, Ross provided legal advice, executive leadership and operational guidance across Cadre’s corporate growth initiatives and investment portfolio. Prior to serving as GC, Ross worked alongside Lafayette Street Capital CIO Dan Rosenbloom on Cadre’s Investments team. Prior to his six years at Cadre, Ross practiced law at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson in its real estate department. At Fried Frank, Ross's practice covered a broad range of real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, construction financing, leasing, and the development of commercial, residential, and hospitality projects.
Ross received his J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and holds a B.A. from the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University.
Nick is a Vice President of Investments at Lafayette Street Capital. Nick is involved in the full investment cycle for Lafayette helping with new transaction sourcing, underwriting, and structuring while also responsible for the ongoing asset management of the Lafayette portfolio. Prior to joining Lafayette, Nick spent 4 years at Cadre on the investments team in an acquisitions and asset management capacity working closely with the current Lafayette team across acquisitions and investment management.
Prior to his 4 years at Cadre, Nick worked on the acquisitions team at Heitman executing equity, debt, and preferred equity investments across Heitman's various funds. At Heitman, Nick closed over $1bn in total transaction volume across several different asset classes.
Nick received a B.B.A. in finance and real estate from the Carl H. Lindner College of Business at the University of Cincinnati where he graduated with honors.
Matt serves as an Associate on the Investments team at Lafayette Street Capital, contributing to all stages of the investment process. His responsibilities include sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities, underwriting and structuring transactions, and overseeing the asset management of Lafayette’s portfolio.
Before joining Lafayette, Matt spent three years at Starwood Property Trust, where he focused on the origination, structuring, and closing of loans across property types for securitization. He began his career in private wealth management at Grey Street Capital, which was later acquired by Caprock.
Matt holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Wake Forest University and a Master’s degree in Real Estate Finance from Cornell University.
